At The Barn Animal Hospital, we have several Official Veterinarians who are authorized to provide Pet Passports. This is a document that allows you to enter or return to the UK with your dog, cat, or ferret.
For entry or return to the UK, the following are required:
- Your pet must have been microchipped.
- Has a pet passport or third-country official veterinary certificate.
- Has been vaccinated against rabies. A single rabies vaccine is required which must be done at least 21 days before you wish to travel. Pets will also need a blood test if you’re travelling from an unlisted country.
- Before re-entering the UK, your pet must see a vet for worming treatment. This must be done between exactly 24 and 120 hours before you re-enter the UK. Your passport will be stamped at the time.
THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS MAY CHANGE DUE TO BREXIT
We strongly advise anyone travelling with their pets to call the practice six months prior to travel and speak to an Official Veterinarian to ensure that travel requirements have not changed.
